Cardiology Testing

Assess heart health, identify potential issues, and guide appropriate interventions, both preventing and managing heart disease.

Electrocardiogram (EKG)

A heart test that records the electrical activity of the heart, helping doctors diagnose heart conditions and evaluate cardiac health.

Echocardiogram

A non-invasive test that uses ultrasound waves to produce real-time images of the heart, providing valuable information about its structure and function for diagnosing heart diseases and assessing cardiac performance.

Stess Echocardiogram

A heart test that combines an echocardiogram with physical exercise or medication-induced stress to evaluate the heart’s function and blood flow during periods of increased heart and physical activity.

Exercise Stress Test

A medical test that involves monitoring the heart’s activity (using an EKG) during physical exercise to assess the heart’s response to exertion, evaluate cardiovascular fitness, detect potential heart conditions, and guide treatment decisions.

Nuclear Stress Test

A diagnostic medical test that uses a small amount of radioactive material with imaging technology to assess blood flow to the heart, identify blockages or abnormalities, and help diagnose and evaluate various heart conditions.

MUGA (Multiple-Gated Acquisition) Scan

A MUGA scan is a non-invasive medical test that uses radioactive material with specialized imaging to evaluate the pumping efficiency of the heart, helping to diagnose and monitor heart conditions such as heart failure and assess the effectiveness of cardiac treatments.

Amyloid

This test that detects the presence of amyloid protein deposits, which can help diagnose and monitor conditions such as amyloidosis and Alzheimer’s disease. To put it simply, amyloid protein refers to abnormal proteins that stick together and form clumps in different parts of the body, potentially causing damage to organs and tissues.

Carotid Doppler

A non-invasive procedure that uses ultrasound technology to evaluate blood flow in the carotid arteries (that carry blood from your heart to your brain), helping to detect and assess blockages or narrowing that can increase the risk of stroke or other cardiovascular diseases.

ABI (Ankle-Brachial Index), PVR (Pulse Volume Recording) measurements & Stress ABI

Medical tests that assess blood flow and pressure in the lower extremities (legs) to diagnose peripheral artery disease (PAD), evaluate its severity, and determine the effectiveness of interventions, aiding in the management and prevention of complications such as leg pain and ulcers.

Telemetry

A medical monitoring technique that uses wireless technology to continuously track and transmit vital signs such as heart rate, rhythm, and oxygen levels, enabling healthcare providers to remotely monitor patients in real-time and respond promptly to any changes or emergencies.

Holter

This involves wearing a portable device to continuously record the heart’s electrical activity over a period of 24 to 48 hours, allowing doctors to evaluate abnormal heart rhythms and identify potential cardiac issues that may not be captured during a standard EKG.

Peripheral Arterial Doppler

A procedure that uses ultrasound to evaluate blood flow in the arteries of the arms or legs, aiding in the diagnosis of peripheral artery disease (PAD) and helping to assess the severity of arterial blockages or narrowing, guiding treatment decisions to improve circulation and prevent complications.

Transcranial Doppler

A medical procedure that uses ultrasound to assess blood flow in the arteries of the brain, detecting abnormalities such as narrowed or blocked vessels, and assisting in the diagnosis and management of conditions like stroke, vasospasm, and intracranial hypertension (high blood pressure in the brain).

Renal Artery Doppler

A simple medical procedure that uses ultrasound to evaluate blood flow in the arteries going to the kidneys, aiding in the diagnosis of kidney problems and assessing kidney function. This guides treatment decisions to manage conditions such as hypertension and kidney disease.

Abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) screening/Aortic Doppler

AAA screening & Aortic Doppler are medical tests that use ultrasound imaging to assess the size and function of the abdominal aorta (the main vessel from the heart that carries blood to the body), helping to detect and monitor the presence of aneurysms (bulging of a blood vessel) and preventing life-threatening ruptures by allowing timely intervention.

Arterial Duplex (upper & lower extremities)/Venous Duplex (upper & lower extremities)

Arterial and Venous Duplex uses ultrasound imaging to assess blood flow and detect abnormalities in the arteries and veins of the upper (arms) and lower extremities (legs), helping in the diagnosis of many diseases like deep vein thrombosis (DVT) or blood clots, and guiding appropriate treatment interventions to improve circulation and prevent complications.

PPM (Permanent Pacemaker) & ICD (Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator) Management

PPM (Permanent Pacemaker) & ICD (Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator) are medical devices implanted in the body to monitor and regulate heart rhythm, providing life-saving electrical signals or shocks when necessary to prevent arrhythmias and manage cardiac conditions, thus improving overall heart function and reducing the risk of cardiac events. We check and confirm that either device is functioning correctly.

Varithena

Varithena is a medical treatment that uses a specialized foam to inject and treat varicose veins, reducing their appearance, relieving symptoms, and improving overall vein function for enhanced leg comfort and cosmetic benefit.

Laser Ablation

Laser ablation is a minimally invasive medical procedure that uses a laser to treat varicose veins, sealing them shut and redirecting blood flow, resulting in improved vein function, reduced symptoms, and makes the treated area look much better.

Ultrasound-guided Sclerotherapy

A medical procedure that uses ultrasound imaging to guide the injection of a sclerosing agent into problematic veins, causing them to collapse and fade away. This is an excellent treatment for varicose veins and improves overall venous circulation and appearance.
